No Code Technician's Class

The Morris Amateur Radio Club is offering a nine week course to prepare individuals who are interested in becoming "hams" to pass the Federal Communications Commission's "No Code Technician's test". {The license acquired allows communications on VHF ham bands and permits contacts within most of the northern NJ area. This license is the beginning level and with the addition of only five words a minute of Morse code allows world-wide contacts.} Classes will be held on Thursday evenings form 7:30 PM until about 9:30 PM Starting September 19, 2002 at the Morris County Fire & Police Academy, 500 Hanover Ave, Parsippany. Classes conclude with the FCC exam on November 21, 2002. There is no charge for the course but class materials will cost $20 to $30 and the exam fee is $10.
